I am obviously a huge procrastinator. Often times, I pick stupid things (like attempting to teach myself to make home made ravioli when I don't even own a fucking rolling pin) to consume my time that should be spent elsewhere. Other times, it is complete, mindless, stare at the iPad kind of procrastination. Neither is very good, and I'm working at improving. Or, at the very least, capturing the former type of procrastination on film.

Those close to me may be aware; I am a Gawker addict. The day I received a star for being a funny and intelligent commenter, I was elated. Like a retarded pop culture angel, earning its wings. Anyway. I was perusing my blog of choice earlier this evening, and came across this:

So, intriguing, obviously, right?
Like, what the fuck?

So naturally, I mosey on over to whatsyourprice.com on the iPad, and I am absolutely fascinated. The people on this site are so transparent, it's almost alarming. Upon landing at whatsyourprice, one is prompted to sign up as an "Attractive" (girls) or "Generous" (guys/wrinkly old men/rich lesbians?) member. From there, the "Attractive" users set their minimum price for a date, and the "Generous" declare how much they are willing to pay. It's not prostitution, though, the site ensures; it's strictly paying to go on a "date".

Yeah, this girl definitely wants $130 bucks to get a latte with some millionaire douche.

It's not the fact that people are seeking sex online that bothers me. With over four years of working at social network under my belt, I am well aware of the underbelly of the internet. I think it's these guys who are self-declared millionaires with a dozen pictures on the internet next to an icon showing he'll give you $200 bills reeeeeal quick if you just go out with him and maybe throw in a beej. Like, haven't you any pride, guy?
